San Sebastian – A Heaven on Earth
During our time here on Erasmus we visited a lot of beautiful places, but no place took my breath as a small town hidden in the Cantabrian Sea. The Pearl of Basque region.
A small city located an hour away from Pamplona offers you an experience for life. Bright sun, warm sea, people singing and dancing through centre will blow your mind. The city itself it is filled with beautiful architecture- the queens country palace situated on the Bay, an old casino that is turned into city˙s public library. Walking through the old part of the town you fill find a lot of pintxos places, small coffe shops and local boutiques filled with Basque goods.
After exploring the old town take a walk on a beach and make a footprint in the velvet sand. If you are a great adventurer like us, take a surfing lesson for two hours and ride those waves. All you need to do is a book a lesson online (the cost is around 30-40 euros) and come to San Sebastian. After catching waves you can enjoy in freshly made pintxos and a nice red wine in the old town and if you have a sweet tooth like us, try their famous cheesecake ( for those who are not cheesecake lovers do not worry it is nothing similar to the regular cheesecake).
Dear fellow adventurer take a bus from Pamplona ( bus station near Indara) which cost around 33 euros ( round trip) and soak in the most vibrant city in this beautiful region of Basque.
